How to create a new hackathon
Ready to start a new hackathon? You can get started in minutes with our templates.
- Log in to your organization’s Hackathon Center.
Go to the Create hackathon section on the main page. You can also find this link in the main navigation bar.
- Choose one of the following options:
Use a pre-built template
Templates provide a structured starting point with placeholder text and pre-configured settings. We recommend this for most new hackathons.
- Generative AI Hack: Learn how to leverage the latest AI technologies for your team.
- Product Hack: Build a quick prototype.
- Bug Smash: Smash bugs in a fun, competitive way.
- Skillup Hack: Learn new things and show off new tools.
- Visual Design Hack: Challenge your designers to create t-shirt graphics.
To use a template, click it to preview the details, then click the Use this template button. Your new hackathon is created instantly as a draft.
Start from scratch
If you have a unique idea or want complete control, select Start from scratch. This creates a blank hackathon draft that you can customize.
Use a custom template
If your organization's Admin created custom templates, they appear here. These are tailored to your company's specific needs, like API onboarding or design sprints.
After you select an option, your hackathon draft is created, and you can begin to add the essential details.
