How to create and use custom templates
ℹ️ Note: Creating custom templates is an Admin-only feature.
Custom templates let Admins standardize hackathon formats for their organization. This is useful for recurring events like quarterly innovation challenges, new-hire onboarding, or specific product sprints.
How to create a custom template
- From the Hackathon Center, go to the Create hackathon section and click View all templates.
- Select the Custom Templates tab.
- Here, you can create a new template from scratch or duplicate an existing hackathon to use as a base.
- Customize the template with your organization's standard description, rules, prize structures, and more.
You can also create a project template to be included with your hackathon template. This prompts participants to provide specific information in their submissions.
How to use a custom template
After an Admin creates and saves a custom template, it's available to all Members in the organization.
When any Member goes to Create hackathon, the custom templates are listed as an option. They can select it to launch a new hackathon pre-populated with your organization's settings.
