How to announce winners and share feedback
After all scores are in, you're ready to wrap up the hackathon, announce your winners, and provide valuable feedback to participants.
Step 1: End the judging period
- Go to the main Judging feature.
- Ensure all judges submitted their scores.
- Click the End Judging Round button.
- When prompted, select End Judging & Select Winners to finalize all scores.
Step 2: Select and announce winners
After you end the judging period, you can assign the awards you created.
- Go to the Winners screen within the Results area.
-
For each award, click the dropdown menu under "Winner." Projects are listed starting with the highest average scores.

- Select the project you want to assign to that award.
- After you assign all the awards, you can either:
- Save your choices: Keep the winners saved as a draft if you're not ready to announce them.
- Announce winners: Publish the results immediately.
After you announce, a Winners Gallery automatically appears on your hackathon's homepage.

Step 3: Share feedback with submitters (Optional)
You can share judges' scores and comments with project teams to help them learn and improve.
- Go to the Judges feedback section.
- Choose what you want to share:
- Round score: The project's average score for that round.
- Individual judge feedback: The specific comments left by judges.
- You can also choose to anonymize the feedback, so judge names are not revealed.
-
Click Share feedback. The selected information appears on the submitters' project pages, and they receive an email notification.
