How does team building work on Devpost for Teams
Hackathons are more fun with a team of people building together! Joining a team on Devpost for Teams requires that you join a project.
Here is how it works:
Make your project open for team building
Register for a hackathon then create a Project and toggle OPEN for TEAM BUILDING. This option allows you to start a project and add some ideas around your project for your coworkers to view; if your project is OPEN for TEAM BUILDING, they can click Join project and be a part of your team.
Filtering for Open Projects:
To look for projects to join, click Projects on the left navigation and use the filter Open to view projects that are open for team building.
Inviting a team member to a project
If you’d like to select a certain coworker to join your project, head to the People page and search for their name. If their name doesn’t appear, they likely have not joined your organization’s Hackathon Center yet. You can invite them to join Devpost for Teams by following the steps outlined in this article.
If a member has already created their Devpost for Teams account, they will appear in the search on the People page. Once you have found the member, click the Invite icon and you can choose a project you’d like them to join. We’ll let them know, and notify you when they confirm.
This is also a great way to search for coworkers with certain skills or specialties that you need to help build your project.
Manage teammates that you need for your project(s)
Once you create a project and enable team building, you have the ability to add, edit, and remove teammates based on their speciality and the skills that you need for your project. Navigate to your Team section and toggle Team Building to OPEN. Click on TEAMMATE NEEDED and choose a speciality and desired skills that you’ll need from a potential team member.
